Trumpeter

Trumpeter is a Chinese manufacturer of injection-molded plastic scale model kits, headquartered in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province, just north of Macau, and operating under parent company ZhongShan YaTai Electric Appliances Co., Ltd. The brand began producing kits in the mid-1990s and grew rapidly into one of the most prolific model kit makers in the world, with all design, engineering, and mold-making (including spark erosion tooling) handled in-house at its Zhongshan facility. The company's catalog spans military ground vehicles, aircraft, cars, and especially ships across scales from roughly 1/700 up to 1/16, covering subjects few other brands attempt. Trumpeter is particularly renowned for its large-scale ship kits, including impressive 1/200 and 1/350 aircraft carriers and warships (most notably its well-regarded 1/200 Titanic), as well as highly detailed 1/32 aircraft and 1/35 armor. Trumpeter kits are known for extensive parts counts, frequent inclusion of photo-etched detail parts, and multi-version tooling that appeals to intermediate and advanced modelers. The company is closely affiliated with the more beginner-friendly HobbyBoss brand, sharing ownership and production facilities, and it also produces kits under license or OEM arrangements for other companies.
