Prototype ship: Bluenose

Rated "Intermediate Level" by Model Shipways, this is a plank-on-bulkhead kit whose laser-cut basswood parts are designed for a precise fit, with flexible basswood strips supplied for hull planking. Fittings include wooden blocks and deadeyes, brass ring and eyebolts, and cast Britannia-metal parts such as the bilge pump, fife rail and anchors, plus three diameters of rigging line and cotton sailcloth for the sails. The box includes eight sheets of detailed plans and a revised, photo-illustrated instruction manual by naval architect Ben Lankford; a display base with brass pedestals is sold separately and not included.
