This kit portrays USS Gearing (DD-710) as modernized under the FRAM I program circa 1961, with the DASH and ASROC anti-submarine systems and revised deck arrangement replacing one twin 5" mount and the WWII AA battery. Like BlueJacket's WWII Gearing kit, it uses a carved solid hull, laser-cut wood, etched brass and Britannia fittings, detailed instructions and plans, and is aimed at very experienced modelers. An optional paint kit (PN1961K) and photo CD (USB1961) are available separately.
