This all-wood, round-bottom strip-planked kit includes a full-size rolled plan, the Success Series Construction Manual, Micro-Cut Quality basswood and mahogany parts, flexible basswood planking strips, a complete metal fittings set, and a strongback/display base for building the hull upside-down. Construction is round-bottom strip planking over frames (plank-on-frame), and the kit includes extra planking stock to allow for mistakes. Despite marketing copy calling it beginner-friendly, retailer and owner reviews consistently describe the compound-curve planking as challenging, rating it closer to a level-2/intermediate build rather than an absolute-beginner kit.
