A.J. Fisher's Champion is one of their classic solid-hull wooden kits, sold at 1/8"=1' (1:96) scale. As with the rest of the A.J. Fisher solid-hull line, the kit is built around a pre-shaped/carved solid wood hull rather than a plank-on-frame or laser-cut bulkhead system, and comes with plans and an instruction book; a pre-carved hull, extra plan sets, and the instruction book are also sold separately for this line. Fittings such as blocks, deadeyes, davits, and other hardware in the A.J. Fisher catalog are typically cast metal (brass) pieces rather than photo-etch.
