Prototype ship: Albatross

Plank-on-bulkhead wooden kit using various top-quality woods, with brass and metal hardware/fittings for completion, including wooden deadeyes, channels, grating strips and pin racks. It includes yarn rigging line and cotton sails, plus large, easy-to-follow plans and a simplified pictorial instruction booklet printed in seven languages. Builder reviews note the mahogany hull planking and gunwale strips benefit from soaking before bending, and that the supplied rigging line and sail cloth are considered the weakest components by some builders.
