Prototype ship: Cutty Sark

Traditional plank-on-bulkhead build with pre-cut plywood frames and keel; the hull planking contrasts dark walnut with lighter limewood, and the deck is laid with individual walnut strips. Boxwood deadeyes and blocks plus beech and bokapi parts come ready to use, and fittings include burnished metal ports, white metal anchors, davits and capstan, brass wire, chain, pin nails, ladders and photo-etched brass ornamentation. The box also includes three diameters of rigging line, cotton sail material (requires measuring and cutting), a silk-screened flag, a wooden display base, a color picture manual, a sail diagram sheet and four plan sheets with a parts list.
