Prototype ship: Albatross
This OcCre wooden kit uses double-planking over precision-cut (laser-cut) plywood keel and frames, a construction method well suited to beginners. Detailed fittings such as blocks, deadeyes, doors, cannons, carriages and deck pumps are supplied in wood or metal (including lost-wax brass castings and etched brass details), and the box includes a full set of pre-sewn sails, rigging line, and a silk flag along with illustrated step-by-step instructions. OcCre markets it as an approachable but still engaging build for a beginning ship modeler who wants a bit of a challenge.
