San Rafael (Mini Mamoli)· MM17

This is a beginner-level 'Mini Mamoli' kit with a pre-carved, pre-shaped solid wood hull requiring no planking. The box includes wood dowels for masts/spars, individual deck planking strips, cast metal fittings, cotton rigging line, silk-screened flags, and simplified multilingual instructions with 1:1 plans, making it a quick ~15-20 hour build. IMPORTANT CAVEAT: product listings describe this 'San Rafael' as a two-masted 'redonda' caravel linked to an African-coast expedition of explorer Afonso Gonçalves, which does not match the historical São Rafael (a carrack in Vasco da Gama's 1497 fleet to India). It is uncertain whether this kit genuinely represents the 1497 carrack São Rafael or is a different/namesake vessel.
