Prototype ship: HMS Alert
A plank-on-frame (POF) wooden kit released around 2020 by the small Chinese manufacturer Trident Model, its first production kit. It ships in a rigid outer box and includes laser-cut medium-density-board sheets for both the hull frames and a full building jig system (including individual jigs for each frame) to assist in constructing the open, framed hull. The retailer notes the kit has very limited supply, and an optional add-on cabin interior detail set was also offered.
