Prototype ship: HMS Alert
This plank-on-bulkhead wooden kit is now in its third revision (V3), designed by Chris Watton, and depicts Alert after her 1778 refit with 24 guns. It features double planking in limewood and pearwood strip, laser-cut pearwood/MDF/plywood parts, three photo-etched brass frets, cast resin cannon and swivel guns, a limewood dowel mast/yard set, and a clear acetate display cradle. The current version ships with a full set of sewn cloth sails and comes with a 56-page full-colour A3 instruction manual.
