HNLMS Jacob van Heemskerck 1942· NIK7107

This is a small-scale waterline-style kit cast primarily in resin with some white metal parts, requiring no major assembly skill beyond basic resin/metal kit building (cutting, cleaning, gluing with cyanoacrylate, and painting). It depicts the ship in her WWII configuration as an anti-aircraft cruiser conversion rather than her original 1939 light cruiser layout. Note: this kit represents the 20th-century Dutch Navy cruiser HNLMS Jacob van Heemskerck, named in honor of the 16th/17th-century explorer/admiral Jacob van Heemskerck — it is NOT the 17th-century VOC exploration jacht 'Heemskerck' commanded by Abel Tasman; no commercially available kit of that earlier ship was found among approved sources.
