H.M.S. Vanguard (also buildable as HMS Elephant or HMS Bellerophon)· B1300,04 (also listed as 1300/04)

This 1:72 scale plank-on-bulkhead wooden kit from Amati's Victory Models line depicts Nelson's 74-gun flagship HMS Vanguard of 1787, with alternate figureheads and stern decorations included to build sister ships HMS Elephant or HMS Bellerophon instead. The kit uses laser-cut birch plywood, walnut plywood and walnut sheet for double-planked construction, with extensive photo-etched brass detail sheets covering window frames, chainplates, and mast/yard fittings, plus cast metal figureheads and fittings. It includes about 20 full-size plans, an illustrated instruction booklet, accurately scaled two-sided copper hull plates, and optional sail cloth with rigging detail for those wanting to rig a full sail plan; it is rated an expert/advanced-level build.
