This 1:40 scale Billing Boats kit (item 606) is a wooden plank-on-frame model whose keel and frame components are laser-cut plywood, with a wooden superstructure, decks, mast and spars in ramin; it includes plastic and/or brass fittings, sails, rigging cord, full-size plan sheets, and an instruction manual with English text. As part of Billing Boats' "600 series," the hull is built in two halves flat on a table and then joined, which the manufacturer notes is an easier way of learning plank-on-frame/plank-on-bulkhead construction, making it a good introductory build. The model can optionally be converted for radio control after installing remote-control equipment.
