This plank-on-bulkhead kit (item 22453) is built on a false keel and bulkhead system that mirrors the real ship's construction. The box contains high-precision laser-cut boards and frames, strip wood for planking, brass and cast-metal fittings, and pre-sewn cloth sails; some current listings also mention an included wooden display base. Assembly instructions are supplied in full colour, step-by-step, in seven languages but only in digital/DVD form (the manufacturer no longer includes a printed instruction booklet, downloadable free from their site instead), and the kit is aimed at modelers with at least intermediate experience. One experienced builder's review noted inconsistent laser-cut part quality and fittings, and the absence of full-size rigging plans, so buyers should expect to supplement the digital instructions with outside reference material.
